I've heard some good conspiracy theories about Katrina...

There was the story that the levees had been blown up to let floodwaters in, then there was the ongoing comments that black people had been herded to the Convention centre and Superdome then left to die (perhaps not so far fetched), but this has to be the best by far.

"Stevens said oddities in Hurricane Katrina storm patterns underpin his theory.
And, according to his website, so does the fact that Katrina and Ivan — the name given to a destructive hurricane that hit Florida in September 2004 — both sound Russian."
